During a recent foray into the world of climbing videos on YouTube, I found this great Lynn Hill video that features climbing tips interspersed with killer climbing footage.
Hill talks about the virtue of patience in climbing. According to her, patience is one of the most important keys to climbing well. In particular, one must know when to move and when to re-position or scope out a series of moves. For example, moving too quickly to what appears to be a jug might be a mistake rather than finding a series of intermediate holds that might not be as positive but ultimately more secure to move on.
The climbing footage takes place on a sport route called "The Perfect Child". Although no explanation of where the route can be found on YouTube or in the video, some searching on the internet yielded the likely location. It appears to be in Utah in the Henry Mountains. Sorry, no forecasts available yet for this area on ClimbingWeather.com (forthcoming). The particular rock feature is called The Horn.
