This beautifully produced video shows the team of Planet Bigwall opening a new route on Baffin Island. Though not strictly a climbing video (features BASE jumping and skiing), this video shows the beauty and humor that makes some of the best climbing videos that I've seen. Love that soundtrack, too!
Enjoy!

Watch Ethan Pringle work two highball problems in the Buttermilks, 'This Side of Paradise' (V10) and 'Evilution' (V12). Footage taken from November 21, 2005. Not a bad soundtrack, either -

Thanks again to Patagonia for putting together this audio interview with the free climbing legend Henry Barber. Barber talks about climbing barefoot in Germany with only slings and a rope, and other crazy adventures.
Audio only - enjoy!

Although this video is rather old, I thought that some people may not have seen it. Lynn Hill tells her story about preparing and freeing the nose in a day. A bit of history from the first aid ascent, and lots of bits of wisdom from one of the greatest climbers ever!
Enjoy!

Another super-cool video from Capitan Cojones Producciones - this one features 'traditional' crack climbing on a non-traditional surface - a concrete wall in a very urban setting.
Not sure where these folks are coming up with the skills and money to make these videos, but all feature great soundtracks and professional production.

I know that many of you have probably already seen this, but the footage and music are great! Last fall's Petzl RocTrip went to the Red River Gorge - highlights include Sean McColl flashing "Thanatopsis" (5.14a) and Michael Fuselier's first ascent of "50 Words for Pump" (5.14c).
Many thanks to Big UP Productions for putting together this high quality video.

Where do you climb when you are living in the concrete jungle? Produced by Cojones Producciones in Buenos Aires, Argentina, this video features city climbing on a bolted concrete wall! Don't miss it! Top-notch production, crimpy concrete moves and a cool sound track!
We'll be featuring more videos from Cojones Producciones in the next few weeks.

Awesome video by Big Up Productions featuring Chris Sharma on the super-difficult 5.14d route Dreamcatcher, in Squamish, BC.
What drew me to this video is not just the difficulty of the route, or the intense moves, but the beauty of the rock and location of this climb.
Enjoy!

Entertaining video of Katie Brown and Cedar Wright attempting the Indian Creek 5.13a crack climb. Lots of grunting, amusing banter and stockings! This is definitely one not to be missed -

This great video was posted at Patagonia.com featuring mind-boggling footage of Jonathan Thesenga and Brittany Griffith climbing in Stolby, Siberia. But what's mind-boggling about this is not the climbing of Thesenga and Griffith, rather the fearless, en masse free-soloing of men, women and children of the Stolby community.
Enjoy!

For those of you who are fans of the Peter Mortimer films, such as Return2Sender, you probably developed an affinity for the swiss climber Didier Berthod. When Mortimer decided to follow Didier to Squamish to climb one of the hardest cracks in the world, the Cobra Crack (5.14), if you were like me, you were holding your breath for some incredible Mortimer footage of the first ascent.
Unfortunately, that did not happen. Instead, after many attempts, Didier took a bit of a vacation. Along came Canadian Sonnie Trotter, who took the first ascent. All was captured in high quality video.

During a recent foray into the world of climbing videos on YouTube, I found this great Lynn Hill video that features climbing tips interspersed with killer climbing footage.
Hill talks about the virtue of patience in climbing. According to her, patience is one of the most important keys to climbing well. In particular, one must know when to move and when to re-position or scope out a series of moves. For example, moving too quickly to what appears to be a jug might be a mistake rather than finding a series of intermediate holds that might not be as positive but ultimately more secure to move on.
The climbing footage takes place on a sport route called "The Perfect Child". Although no explanation of where the route can be found on YouTube or in the video, some searching on the internet yielded the likely location. It appears to be in Utah in the Henry Mountains. Sorry, no forecasts available yet for this area on ClimbingWeather.com (forthcoming). The particular rock feature is called The Horn.
Enjoy the video!
